Hello Could you tell me how to place the thread under the presser? I can't get it to work.
Hello, and thank you for writing! Because this is a chain stitch machine, it shouldn't be necessary to have the thread under the presser foot to start sewing. Just make sure there is at least 6 inches of thread pulled through the needle before cranking the first stitch and it should work. If you can give me a little more information about how yours isn't sewing, I may be able to help.
Use gears or a rubber band to drive that turntable.
The Rusto painters touch isnt true black. It dries more like a carbon black with a gray look in the sun.
Как жаль, что голопом по европам. Слишком быстро, не успевает глаз рассмотреть подробности каждой машинки...
You are right. I did scan the machines too fast. Sorry. For a closer look at each machine, you can find them in the following playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PLEnCVl0LWmYfasxI2p2mcDF0YauzDkwYY.html Thank you for commenting!
Какой интересный звук при работе механизма!!!
I never expected that i would ship two medieval period people together 😅
It seems basil is one of the easiest cuttings to root. I’ve been attempting to root parsley cuttings in water and in “soil” -both flat leaf and curled-but no luck so far. I’d love to hear from somebody that’s had success rooting parsley cuttings whatever the method 👍
Is there a parts list anywhere online for these machines? I'd love to see how everything came together (and maybe how hard it would be to modify cheap parts or make parts to make my own machine, because i don't see anyone selling these and it sounds fun lol)
A few manuals for some antique sewing machines come with parts lists, but those are very few and far between. Bay often carries sets of parts for a wide range of machine es and many people offer non-working machines for parts. While I have made a few simple replacement parts, unless you have a complete machine shop and are a machinist, doing so is more pain than it's worth. What were you thinking of making, a chai stitcher? If so, may I recommend you look into cheap toy sewing machines? There are several types that use more simply shaped parts that would be much easier to make than full sized machines. They could be scaled up to whatever size interested you. Good luck!
If you want to make a sewing machine from scratch, I recommend something along the lines of this Muller: ua-cam.com/video/uSph4UDUNzQ/v-deo.html It has no gears and could be made from all flat stock. You could even make it out of wood!
Thank you!!!
Wow, what spectacular machines and restoration, marvelous!! A treat for the eyes. Thank you for saving so many of them. They are a splendid collection. Thank you for the in-depth tutorial on scanning and cutting these stencils. Looks like this machine is a Brothers Scan Cut priced at $300. Never knew this existed, such a great machine for stenciling and decals! The way you explained the sizing of the design for an accurate smaller print, is the same as taking a large format photo on a Hasselblad, and reducing it to a 35 mm print size. All the details are sharper and more vivid. Very clever! This is a masterclass stenciling video, many thanks! Subscribed. fyi - There is something wrong with your audio which is making lip smacking noises in the background. Use a shirt microphone pinned to your collar or one with a 'sock' on it to muffle ambient sounds around. Audio should be clear not speckled with static dust.
Crap, I work at a sheet plastic shop, there goes my idea of using plastic mirror. Thanks for stopping me before I goofed 😅
I am growing Snapdragons. It is Autumn here but I use a 6500k led house light bulb and it seems to work well on them. They are growing slowly but steady and not too much legginess.
Thanks Bro🙏
When I was a youth leader for my church's youth group I had a group of boys who were all athletes ... except one. The poor kid, he grew up mostly without his father around and by age 12-13 had never learned to throw or catch anything or even ride a bike. He wouldn't play catch with anyone because he was both embarrassed by his ineptitude and afraid of being hurt by whatever the object was. One spring I gave him an Aeribie Superdisc, which I regard as the best "frisbee" money can buy because it's easy to throw, easy to catch, and softer to the touch. Over the summer he threw that Aerobie Superdisc back and forth with his little brother and became decent enough at throwing it that he wasn't shy about playing catch with our group of junior varsity athletes. Aerobie also makes a really good coffee press.
Who hasn't brought out a new Aerobie ring and lost it almost immediately?
Finding this video after. I just used the rustoleum clear enamel. Do I need to sand the blistering before using this?
Blistering usually means that not only has the paint been attacked, the paint's bond to whatever it was sprayed on has almost certainly also been compromised. I hate to say this, but the safest course of action would be to completely remove all the paint and start over. Sanding down the blisters might smooth things out for a repaint and reclearcoat, but at some time in the future the original paint might start peeling off. Sorry.
The 3 clears that don't cause bubbling is because they're all enamel or oil themselves. You can't mix lacquer with enamel .
Thank you for doing this for others. Truly nice of you to be so thorough!
Hi Wayne, I'm with a major TV broadcaster in Japan, and we'd like to use your video about Giant Soap Bubbles. How can we reach you in order to send the details?
I give my permission to use then anyway you want.
@@wayneschmidt490 thank you very much!
Hello Wayne, First thank you for this video, I have seen another in which gold leaf was used to back the transfer paper on all the areas that were gold on a Singer Sewing machine. I am curious if you had tried using silver leaf instead of spray paint and if so what was the result?
I've played this game many times with my friends, and it is a TON of fun!!
To put "five thousand years" (i.e. 3,000BC) into perspective: - When Jesus was born, this game would have been older to him than Jesus is to us today. - This game is older than the Great Pyramid of Giza. - At around the same time, Stonehenge was built, North African people started farming for the first time, and North American people started making pottery for the first time. - Woolly Mammoths were still alive. - It is 1,000 years older than the city of Babylon.
HI I have one of these with a coffin top. Is it true that people sat on the coffin top to sew?
I doubt that because they would be so low to the floor their knees would be near their chin.
Would a "reef" attached to the bottom make a barrel or surfing type of wave?
That's an interesting question. I'm not sure what shape would create the best wave effect.
Челночный узел не оригинальный.
My wife and I both have a pair of these. Ours are now well over ten years old. They have been on numerous trips with us as we travel six to eight months a year. They have been used in freezing cold, hot tropics dry deserts and rain forests. And when I say used, I mean USED a lot. They have never missed a beat. They have been borderline abused, they have been dropped, they have been immersed in water and survived dust storms. Most of the problems pointed out have never been a problem for us. Yes, they are scratched up, but considering the life they have led, that’s to be expected. The rubber exterior is still the same as the day we bought them, and yes they have been exposed to deet. The diopter adjustment holds tight ( I think who ever had a problem with them had a user error moment. Eye relief is more than adequate. Was he adjusting the eye shields? They screw in and out. Both of us are eyeglass wearers. Not only do they preform well, the optics are among the best, and we have used or own several high end optics so we know the difference. I have optics that cost three times as much, and I’m not going to say they are better, but they absolutely hold their own. In summery, these are one of the best purchases I’ve made in my life. Every time I use them, I’m reminded how great they are. Perfect? No. I absolutely hate the rear lens cover. Front one is useless to. I put UV haze filters on the front of mine, and then use lens caps they are one of the few binoculars that are threaded for filters (52 mm). Battery life while excellent in general is poor in cold climates (like all electronics). Use only disposable lithium batteries in them. I have no idea how long batteries last as I play it safe and change them every year ( so probably 75 hours or more) except half or third of that in cold weather).
Great comment! Thank you!
Hi Wayne I am curious what is the serial number of your Howe sewing machine?? I just recently bought one and top thread parts are different. I am wondering if yours is a later date than mine or mine is later than yours. Great video it helped me thread mine as well thanks.
Ours is 526534. What's yours?
The happy faces are not traditional :P
You are correct, but they make the game a lot more fun, especially for our grandchildren.

So exciting. Thank you
So does a ainger 12k handcrank not work at all? What about the singer cases, does this fit in one. It is easier to find singer12k cranks and cases than oem freja ones.
Anything Singer is much easier to find than any other brand. Singer hand cranks won't fit on Frejas because the mountings are different.
@@wayneschmidt490 that's too bad, I will have to figure something out. How about cases/box mounts? Are the footprints the same?
@@RioTorxx Sorry, I forgot you asked about them. I don't know for sure because I don't have the cases for both to see if they are interchangeable. My.experience with cases suggests they wouldn't be.
Hi Wayne, awesome video! Do you still have the plexiglas box to this Wave Motion Machine?
No. Sorry.
Ah, too bad, but thanks for the quick answer!
I have a Model 40 K Singer Hand crank machine. I have a problem with the timing as the stitch hook, misses the needle as it brings the thread down. Any advice on how to correct the timing?
Hi! Sorry for your problem, but let's see what we can figure out. The most common problem is that someone before you put the wrong needle in. The following video by one of the greatest experts in antique and vintage machines may help you sort things out. Good Luck! ua-cam.com/video/CAT1ezc2DxI/v-deo.html
I just reread your comment, this time thinking more about your statement that the hook misses the needle. Did you mean that the hook's timing is such that the needle isn't down far enough for the hook to pick up the thread?
What a brilliant video. 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you!
I love the Aerobie open disc. It is “dangerous” for a backyard just because it goes so far so easily. In a small area, you have to throw gentle, but in a large area, NOTHING will go farther. It is also very easy to catch. Best frisbee/disc ever.
Excellent video and tutorial. So you did not use any source at all. Could I use my monazite source or will it produce too much heat and block any disintegrations?
My guess is that if you placed it in the chamber when you set it up, by the time everything got going it would have cooled down enough to not interfere with track production, if the Samp,e was under 1 cm across. The only way to know for sure is to try it. Good luck!
@@wayneschmidt490 Thank you! I am going to also try my radium watch hands.
Is this a chain stitch machine
No. She's a lock stitch,
Thank you! I have an old hand crank Singer chain stitch machine that just makes a tangled mess of thread when I try to use it. Seeing how it’s supposed to work is very helpful!
Nerve wreaking when slinging a 1.5k equipment? Many cameras are worth more than that.
Pls, use metric as well.
Hmm. Worth a look. Mine is... "Stiff" and oiling isnt helping. It has two "sticky" spots per revolution. I can hand turn the machine fairly easily but the treadle belt just cant.
Wow, what a treat to find this video with this machine. I bought the same or similar machine at an estate sale. The tension spring is broken. Would you have a suggestion where I might begin to locate one? I think my machine was made in 1874 or thereabouts. Decals are the same as your machine is. Thank you for any help you may give. You do exquisite work.
Fortunately, many places sell parts for antique Singer sewing machines. Try the following key word string: "Singer 127 parts" in EBAY, Google Amazon and so forth. You may have to purchase a bag of parts to get what you want. Good luck and thanks for commenting!
@@wayneschmidt490 My, what a quick reply! Thank you. I did not realize this was a 127 model. Serial number is 13299207 with no letter so I could not find a model number. Your work is exquisite!
So it's basically using a mirror 🪞 that you can see through.. and Sandwiching two together with light in between 🤔
Real craftsmanship, painstaking and so rare to see. Like hand engraving. Very nice. I wonder ... what if you applied a band of gold foil to the machine then stuck a larger decal over it covering up the gold in reverse. So the letters would be hollow and gold shine thru, and the rest of the gold would be masked off with a black decal further opaqued by a pen or such. Now the lines would be crisp with less effort, no? Tricky business. There is no shortcut for craftsmanship.
That's an interesting idea: instead of applying the gold to the back of the decal, apply it directly to the machine before the decal. One big advantage would be that over time, the decal shrinks exposing the gold at the edge of the decal. With your technique, the black decal could be cut large enough so that when it shrinks, it's covers the gold under it. Great idea! I'll give it a try. Thank you!
Another good thing about your idea is that the decal would be much thinner and therefore it would be easier to hide the edge.
Oil is the best but it clots your spray tube! And cleaning the spray gun is a problem!

An assignment for school? That would depend on the class and level. My recommendation would be to ask your professor if he or she would accept it as an assignment subject and what they would expect to see in the write-up.
@@wayneschmidt490My professor told me to film a video of making this the same..
Good review
Can you please do a video like this but about electronic piano floor mats? I have eight of those and don't want to destroy one.
Sorry, I don't have one of those.
You can probably find one at a thrift store.
